Health & safety at work
We comply with the relevant Health and Safety legislation by following our health and safety protocols which are in line with the law. We have a duty to take responsibility to avoid injury to staff and to our patients, hence we adhere to statutory and mandatory requirements.

Our statutory and mandatory training is up to date for all staff.

Infection Prevention & Control
Our staff ensure high quality patient care is based upon principles of best practice in infection prevention and control, either directly through personal contact or indirectly through supervision of practice. Our staff fully co-operate with managers in achieving compliance with Infection Control policies and in adopting safe systems of work when undertaking activities that present a risk of the spread of infection.
Confidentiality
Information about any individual (staff, visitors or patients), which includes either some or all details of their identity is personal and is subject to the Data Protection Act (1998), General Data Protection Regulation (2018), and the Human Rights Act (1998). Patient information, in any form is confidential. We only share or give access to someone with a legitimate reason, related to the care of the patient with the patient’s consent. However, there are times when we are required by the law to share information in case of an emergency or criminal offence. This is further elaborated in our terms and conditions which are at the bottom of the home page
Our staff maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive material and information and immediately report any potential confidentiality breaches that may arise.
Information Security
Our staff comply with all Universal Ultrasound Diagnostics communications and policies that are issued relating to the electronic security of Universal Ultrasound Diagnostics patient information particularly in relation to: saving and storing information, password management and responsibilities of transfer of data and data sharing.
Whistleblowing
Raising Concerns
Staff are encouraged to raise any concerns to their line manager if they reasonably believe that one or more of the following concerns is either happening, has taken place, or is likely to happen in the future relating to the company’s business: A criminal offence, the breach of a legal obligation, a miscarriage of justice, a danger to the health and safety of any individual, damage to the environment, deliberate attempt to conceal any of the above and any other legitimate concerns.
Premises
There is a CCTV, buzzers and panic alarm buttons in place. The outiside doors are operated using door codes which are only privy to staff. There is staff on call in case of any emergencies.
Data Protection
Our staff are aware of the Caldicott principles, the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Human Rights Act 1998. The protection of data about individuals is a requirement of the law and if any of our staff is found to have permitted unauthorised disclosure, Universal Ultrasound Diagnostics and the individual may be prosecuted and disciplinary action will be taken for any breach.
Safeguarding The Welfare Of Children And Vulnerable Adults
Our staff are trained on safeguarding adults and children. They have a general responsibility for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in the course of their daily duties in accordance with the our safeguarding policies which are in alignment with the law.
For All Posts Requiring Professional Registration
Our staff have professional qualifications and maintain professional registration for the duration of their employment and cannot be lawfully employed should registration lapse. They also abide by the codes of professional practice as detailed by their professional body such as NMC, HCPC, BMUS and GMC.
