Lydia is the CQC Registered Manager and Operations Director of Universal Ultrasound Diagnostics.
Lydia’s experience spans the NHS, the private sector, assisted living facilities, care homes, and domiciliary care, which provided her with a diverse range of knowledge in healthcare management and administration and gave her the opportunity to demonstrate her flexibility, leadership, and managerial skills. Her professional path is characterised by her noteworthy responsibilities and successes.
Her passion for healthcare started when she was 27 years old. Watching her brother in the ICU being cared for until his death and having experienced two miscarriages before giving birth to her two boys inspired her to help others. Lydia strives to make a difference, set an example and motivate others
Lydia worked at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust for nine years, rising from a receptionist to Assistant Operations Manager. She worked in various departments including maternity wards, baby clinic, neonatal intensive care unit and radiology. She has vast experience in radiology, with a focus on paediatrics, gynaecology, obstetrics, fertility, and diagnostic scans. Her ability to adjust to changing circumstances and dynamic scenarios shows her resilience in the face of adversity. Taking the responsibility to learn from mistakes is indicative of her strong and adaptable managerial style.
One of Lydia’s significant achievements was developing a computerised appointment system for Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. This system expedited appointment scheduling in accordance with national standards and enhanced patient safety by managing demand and capacity. When personnel constraints made it impossible to fulfil the 2-week oncology route targets, she worked on weekends and evenings to significantly reduce the waiting lists.
Lydia is not limited to providing medical care. In the private sector, she demonstrated her skills in finance, human resources, and customer service. Lydia’s expertise extends to strong project management skills. Lydia is the founder of Universal Ultrasound Diagnostics Ltd, a company she formed from inception. Lydia believes in early diagnosis, the prevention of diseases and health promotion. She prides herself in being able to provide patients with peace of mind through team-led delivery of high-quality, patient-centred service in a caring, respectful, and compassionate environment.
Her extensive qualifications also include an array of diplomas in business and professional administration, computers, advanced health and social care and finance.
