About Andrew Ayine Asoeh

Andrew Ayine Asoeh is a resolute advanced sonographer with years of postgraduate work experience in both hospital and private practice. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, graduating top of his class and a master’s degree in Medical Imaging with Management from Bournemouth University.

Andrew can perform the following scans for adults (males and females) and paediatric/children – Abdominal (including abdominal wall, hernias & appendix), Kidneys & Bladder, Kidney & Prostate, Pelvic, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) leg , Venous Insufficiency, Scrotal/Testicular, Groin, Breasts, Breast Implants (pre and post-surgery) Thyroid, Neck, Lumps and Bumps, Chest Wall, Aorta & Groin, Pelvic & Caesarean Scar, Fertility and Fertility with Antral Follicles Count (AFC), Early Pregnancy, Reassurance, Dating, Gender, Cervical Length, Anomaly (20 Week Scan), Growth/Fetal Well-being/Placental Localisation, 3D & 4D Reassurance Scans.

Andrew is a member of the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) and has volunteered and participated in several study days and CPD programs organised by the society. He is also a member of the Ghana Society of Radiographers (GSR), Ghana Association of Registered Medical Sonographers (GARMS), the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and Radiology Across Borders (RAB), where he continues to learn and improve on his practice.

In addition to Andrew’s vast clinical experience, he has a great interest and experience in health research, having co-authored a pilot study published in the Journal of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. His master’s dissertation is a systematic review which explored the role of computer-based simulation in developing obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound skills.

Andrew has also recently been involved in a service evaluation project conducted by the HealthTech Research Centre in Sustainable Innovation, Royal Devon NHS Trust, as a research intern through the HDR UK Black internship program, where he contributed to the Ambient AI project. An initiative which seeks to harness artificial intelligence to boost clinical productivity, alleviate administrative burdens, and enhance patient care and safety within the Royal Devon NHS Foundation Trust.

Andrew’s passion for sonography and medical imaging is rooted in his commitment to blending compassionate patient care with the thoughtful use of technology. He aspires to be a clinical academic (an academic/research sonographer), contributing effectively to patient care and well-being, scientific knowledge and training of healthcare professionals.
