Emma Barratt holds a BSc in Human Biology and Infectious Diseases and worked in the NHS for almost a decade. In that time, she worked in housekeeping, multiple laboratories, as a Business Support Coordinator and Personal Assistant to consultant radiologists and as an Office Manager in a busy radiology department. With a vast skill set that covers sample preparation, infection control, secretarial duties, waiting list management, administration and management, Emma works in the most efficient way to cater to the demand and needs of the UUD patient base.
Emma last worked as the Office Manager in radiology at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Foundation Trust and was in charge of a team comprising of Receptionists, Business Support Officer/Personal Assistant, Bank Administrative Staff, Volunteers, Radiology Administrator and an Administrative Team Leader. Emma ensures a smooth process of triaging referrals and managing patient bookings to give patients the best possible patient experience.
With knowledge of managing patient experience through the diagnostic process and handling complaints, Emma provides patients with reassurance and an efficient, stress-free referral and booking process. This allows patients to feel supported through their time using the service from the point of contact to receipt of the report.
Emma’s passion for healthcare developed after listening to her Mum’s stories of working as a nurse. Early on Emma discovered a love of biology and decided that the healthcare industry was where she wanted to work.
